The negative and positives effects that parents may have on their children when they try to push them in a certain direction.

It is an undeniable fact that parents always want the best for their offsprings. In this pursuit, more often than not, parents put pressure on their children in order to achieve a variety of accomplishments which the former feel that they will help the latter in their future. However, at times, this can lead to what parents try to avoid, even faster from what they would think in the first place.

To begin with, on the negative side when children are pushed into succeeding, they could acquire / develop psychological problems. The more they would try to satisfy the unquenchable need of their parents for excellence, the more the older generation would demands from them. This, in some occasions, could generate a feeling of some kind of hatred or repulsion targeting their parents. The children would constantly wonder why they cannot just accept them for what they are, but they have to instill in them a feeling of perpetual need for distinction. ? Thus, if children cannot meet up the expectations of their parents, they are likely to feel that they are worthless and, as a result, develop would have low self-esteem. Then, feeling alienated from their milieu will happen in short time and will be a further burden in their psychological situation. (would is used for the 2nd conditional, when talking about something impossible or unlikely to happen)

On the other hand, parental pressure also has some positive aspects. One of the most glaring ones is the job prospects in their future. Some professions require devotion and discipline from a very young age to master them. Therefore, the earlier the children start to get involved with them, the better they will be when the time comes. A case in point is when the youngsters would like to become athletes. Should their parents push them into sports early, the former will have a better chance for achieving greatness. (great example!) What is more, having parental pressure applied, children are learning their different aspects of their self can discover hidden talents and they can take advantage of them. Hence, if the family of a child do not urge them to start dancing lessons, but the child has an innate, inborn ability at it, then how are they supposed to become aware of it by themselves?

To sum up, it is clear that both sides have their points. In many respects, it is like a double-edged sword; how much pressure and whether it should be applied or not will be eternal questions troubling all loving parents. However, I reckon it is all a matter of degree. A gentle, subtle push in the right direction could lead the children in the right direction without bringing on the surface any unwanted, negative implications.

Home Schooling

Home schooling is the education of children at home by their parents or by tutors. It is another way of teaching children instead of going to conventional schools. There is no doubt in my mind that education at home has some advantages; however, there are disadvantages, too.

A lot of parents, indeed, opt to organize their children' education at their home. One of the most obvious benefits of home schooling is that the lessons are tailored to students' needs. This means that the students can control the way the lesson will be, so that it incorporates the subjects the students are mostly interested in. As a result, the latter will be more industrious. Furthermore , another reason that some parents prefer to home school their children than send them to conventional schools is that they have different religions from the official one; therefore, they wish to protect their beliefs and avoid insult. each other and they may insult them because of their beliefs. They can also get influenced by other students and commit illegal actions. Last but not least there is no peer pressure and children do not need to prove their abilities to others. (Hercules, this is a list of arguments without any explanation! Add a few sentences here to explain what you mean!)

It should not be forgotten that home schooling has also certain drawbacks. One of the consequences of home schooling is that not all parents are professional educators  are not specialist professors ,so they may not be able to solve/ answer all the questions that their children have. They also need a particular enriched knowledge of a variety of thematic areas, otherwise their teaching will not be adequate as a result the and students will fall behind, also feeling frustrated. Moreover, their socialization will be improper/ incomplete, since they will not be familiar with communicating with strangers and with danger, so they will not know how to react in some tough situations in the future. Parents also violate the truancy laws because there are no boundaries in the absences the child is legally seen as absent from school. as a result children will be usually absent and they will not have progress. Therefore, parents are in danger of going to prison for committing a very serious crime.

After carefully considering the pros and cons, it seems to me that home schooling is not the best way of teaching the children; although it makes the education easier, it does not make it effective enough, as the absences and the curriculum is not under the control of the state.

THE MOST IMPORTANT INVENTION

Nowadays Internet plays a substantial role in our lives. It has improved them and, as a result, we can live better. As far as I'm concerned, the most important invention in the last 50 years is the computer and generally the Internet.

(Topic sentence?) First of all, computers are something vital for each job and everybody should be confortable using them. With the Internet we can be aware of all the news and events around the world. In addition, they help us to find information on any subject or area. This is very important not only to be familiar with the environment around us, but also to expand our intellectual horizons and as a result do better at school or university. Furthermore, apart from its use in the educational field, (remember commas!) the Internet enables us to do our shopping online without going to the shopping mall, thus saving valuable time .With the Internet everything can be delivered to our door to satisfy all our needs. Last but not least, it provides us with the ability to spend our time in a fun way with our friends or other people by chatting with them, discussing about matters that concern us and generally having fun.

In my opinion the world would be very different without this invention. To begin with, we wouldn't have the ability to be informed about everything that happens around us. It would be very difficult to assimilate information from fields that interest us.In addition, we wouldn't be able to have fun. (Express all your opinion in the same paragraph) On the other hand, I think that life would also be more (?) interesting without this invention. (This contradicts what you've already said- just mention briefly potential disadvantages.) We could do a a lot of amusing things rather than sitting in front of a chair and watching a screen. We would be able to go out and do something recreational, such as riding our bikes or do some sports. This would also provide us with the ability not only to have fun, but also tone our muscles and keep in shape.

To sum up Internet was, is and will be something very important for a lifetime. We only have to use it by taking the suitable measures. That would help us not to become addicted to it.

The most important problem that teenagers face

Nowdays, teenagers are forced to face a lot of problems. The most serious and important one is the teenagers' worries about the future and the competitiveness among them.

Teenagers, indeed, need to deal with a variety of obstacles. First of all, in the recent years the greek community has faced financial problems. The Greek crisis has made teenagers' life harder, as they cannot afford to get the necessary equipment for school or sometimes families cannot even afford some food. Furthermore,  due to the crisis there is a limit to their professional prospects and the possibilities of finding a job of their choice are few. Secondly, it is difficult for teenagers to choose what job they want to follow in the future, either because of their undeveloped personality or do not know if they will earn enough money to make a living. In some occasions that can lead to psychological problems and stress.

Fortunately, there are effective solutions to all the aforementioned problems. Teenagers should face successfully those problems, so teachers and parents should contribute to that attempt. Firstly, adolescents should discuss with their parents about the current situation in their country. Secondly, teachers should give advice to the students on what profession to follow, as they know which subjects children are interested in and good enough at. Moreover, teenagers should try hard and do their best to achieve their goals; however, in extremely difficult cases it would be advisable to consult a psychologist to help the young people to overcome these hurdles.

To sum up, teenagers need to be industrious and optimistic in order to succeed  in their life. They should never give up or get frustrated about their future or their life or themselves.
