1) Visit this post: International Day of Poetry 21st March: Dead Poets’ Society

Also, have a look at this poem: http://markaki-students.blogspot.com/2019/03/a-quiet-life-poem-for-great-classroom.html

Watch the videos, read the two poems and write down your thoughts in a comment, answering the question:

Why do we read and write poetry? How will the inclusion of poetry in the national school curriculum help the development of the young minds?

  1. People read and write poetry beacause all humans beings have a lot of feelings and storys.Sometimes things are easier to explain with others ways than telling someone what you feel. When this happens music, art, poetry are a effective way of experessing yoursel and feelings.Once someone tries it he realises that all his passions and thoughts can successfully be explained so he eventually leaves his burdens behind.
Poetry is an innovative way of making children more open minded. They can develop their critical thinking and learn to contrl themselves.

    1. Apart from some typing mistakes (stories, control, yourself), your ideas are superb! However, why use he and not they when referring to poetry readers in general? Remember the correct use of commas, too: When this happens (COMMA), music, art and poetry are an effective outlet of individual emotion and expression.

Where are the example sentences of several figures of speech, though?

  2. 1) Poetry is a mean, which be used by people in order to express themselves. Individuals have many feelings like love, fear, passion, etc. that they want to voice.

It is essential to be poetry in the schools curriculum, because it helps students to develpt their critical skills and improve their imagination. Moreover, when someone reads a poem, they tend to identify with the poet. Not only, will poetry help students to create a strong personality, but it will also help them to express their thougths and their feelings!

2)She claimed that her mother is big cheese! She can live her life without her.

The assigments was a piece of cake for the students.

    1. Great ideas, Mary! Some tiny corrections for you to reflect on:
      * poetry is a meanS wjhich IS used
*it is essential for poetry to exist
*not only (no comma) will poetry help

I loved the purposes of poetry you identified!

P.S. Big cheese has to do with important people having power and making decisions, not people you can’t live without. This is the definition on the Urban Dictionary:

Someone knowledgeable and/or of importance and high standing in an area or feild.
      1. Stop addressing me as "Dr. Cox" in front of your patients. When they find out my actual name, they tend to page me with questions when they realize just exactly how inept you really are. Oh, and as an added safety measure, from now on, I'll only be responding to "Doc," "Doctor," "Ceasar," or "The Big Cheese;" and noooo, I'm _not_ joking.

      2. My dad can get us on the moon within the hour. He's a big cheese at NASA...
