Stress and how to cope with it

There is no doubt that people nowadays are members of an extremely stressful world with a lot of problems that each individual has to deal with."Stress" is one of those words that provokes a considerable nymber of discussions. Why are people, in our era, so anxious and stressed about everything? I am inclined to believe that the main cause of stress is the constant mind-wandering thoughts. Every human being is worried about different things, in particular living up to expectations, being competitive or planning the future. Needless to say that the intensive and demanding daily routine makes people feel inundated and overwhelmed. A stressful way of living can have many effects on people who try to cope with it in different ways.
Stress might have perilous effects on a person. To start with, many psychological problems, such as depression, can be caused by this way of living. People's mind whizzes like a washing machine without stopping to appreciate the present moment, which causes unhappiness and makes people feel lost in thoughts about their problems. Consequently, they feel depressed and agitated. Secondly, being stressed distract a person and do not allow them to focus, due to continuous thinking of problems. Hence, even the easiest problem, like what to cook for dinner, is magnified and seems to be very difficult.
Individuals try to deal with this higly debatable issue in many ways. However, sometimes they do it mistakenly. A striking example of this is resorting to  taking medicine in order to become calm and relaxed. To make matters worse, some people, who cannot find an effective treatment, turn to drugs or alcohol for escaping from their problems and their thoughts.Apart of this way of dealing with stress some people just do nothing. They try to omit and forget the things that cause them stress by burying themselves in work or pretending that they are mindful.Although they might get rid of stress, it is unfortunately temporary.
As far as positive ways of facing anxiety are concerned, I am convinced that everyone could find an effective way. Meditation could be a succesful way to solve this problem. In fact, with meditation people learn how to pause their mind and being appreciative of the present moment, this is where happiness stems from. It is obvious that it is preferable to learn how to be mindful as a prevention and not as a remedy. Last but not least, other steps could be suggested. This is clearly illustrated by discussing with their family, friend or even with an expert.
In the light of this evidence, there is no absolute answer to the question of why people nowadays feel stressed and how they can deal with it successfully. From my poiont of view, every idividual has a different way of facing stress which would be effective. I streongly believe that all of us should find it, in order to make world a less stressful place to live in.

The emotional struggle of teenagers

Adolescents face difficulties expressing their emotions and sometimes this results in emotional outbursts. It's hard for most of them to talk openly to someone like their friends or family. So, what makes teenagers hide their feelings and emotions?

Their trouble dealing with their emotions is totally understandable and there are some reasons associated with this. First and foremost is pressure. One important type of pressure is parental. Nowadays parents usually press their teenage children too much. Some of them do it because they want their child to be better at everything than other students and see the grade system as a kind of competition between students' parents. Others however, just believe that the pressure they exert benefits their offspring. This makes teenagers very insecure about their abilities sometimes and ads up to their already tight schedule. Another common type of pressure, is by peers. Teenagers have to keep up with them in order to be sociable and this can become really frustrating sometimes. The other important reason is that they have to live up to set community standards. They are expected to have a certain personality and behavior that sometimes does not express their actual personality. In addition, when they try to defy these standards they are labeled and criticized.

However, there are also some solutions to adolescents' emotional struggle. First of all, I think that finding their passion can help them a great deal. Their passion might be for example art. They can release all their true thoughts and emotions by singing, drawing, dancing etc. It is a socially acceptable way that can also help them in the long run and they can end up doing it professionally. Moreover, another solution is talking with their parents, friends or relatives that they can trust and explain to them what they go through. It will make teenagers feel better and sometimes older people can even give them some sort of advice.

To sum up, emotion related problems make teenagers' lives harder and they can seem too overwhelming. However there are efficient solutions they could try out.

Public Health Care

One of the sad realities of modern life is that, although contemporary medical advances have occurred, the availability of quality treatment for all members of society has yet to be accomplished. In my country, for instance, public health care already exists, but hardly a day goes by without citizens complaining of its malfunction. Hence, topping my changes' list are where treatment is given and who actually gets it.

The question of who gets quality treatment is probably the greatest problem facing public health care nowadays. More specifically, affluent people are more likely to be registered with a prolific treatment, since doctors of National Health System (NHS) are governed by corruption. That is, local physicians expect patients to leave them an exorbitant amount of money in an envelope. A case in point is that even though parents are offered with health insurance, they opt to hand this envelope over for fear of the ramifications if they do not. It is outrageous that daunted patients are exploited this way. So, to alleviate the situation, governments should inform citizens about their rights to health care and the phenomenon of corruption.

The second problem of our NHS that is crucial we comprehend is the fact that although there are public hospital and a wide variety of clinics, some citizens are not able to take advantage of them, either because they are not in close proximity to them, or since they are inadequately equipped. More specifically, not only is the absence of hospitals in rural areas and islands a serious complaint on the grounds that patients have to travel when they are inflicted with an  immense amount of pain, but also the system's inability to care about diseases is undoubtedly blameworthy. Therefore, fund raising so as to build hospitals in underdeveloped parts of the country and setting up evacuation systems, which will facilitate the patients in remote ares are to be done.

Taking everything into consideration, there is no doubt in my mind that these problems of our National Health System will exist perpetually unless the government and the doctors take action in order to make public health care a service fairly provided to everyone, since health is always the most important priority.

Immigration

Immigration, that is the movement of streams of people, is a primeval phenomenon. Nowadays, though, it has become more intense than ever, since an excessive amount of immigrants are fleeing their countries because they strive to find refuge in safer and established countries. Due to the sheer volume of refugees in different countries, governments and international organizations need to take the initiative to control this wave of desperation. Hence, the question that arises is:
What can be done to remedy this mammoth problem?

There are many measures that the governments should take in order to alleviate the situation. First and foremost, they could accept a certain amount of refugees so as to restrict illegal entrance in the countries. A case in point is that a wide variety of facilities and many camps could be created after the government will have decided how many people will finally enter the country. Apart from that, the very immigrants should be provided with papers and passports, which will make their legal entrance feasible, without creating a frenzy. As a last resort, inhumane though it may seem, closing the barriers of a country could refrain terrorists from entering illegally; subsequently, terrorist attacks will be eliminated.

There are other implementing measures to deal with immigration. Firstly, the collaboration of all United Nations could be the optimal one, on the grounds that concerted efforts will be made to help immigrants assimilate into foreign societies better. Furthermore, governments in conjunction with International Organizations could offer refugees food supplies, clothes and shelter with which these unfortunate people are not provided when immigrating. Last but not least, the co-ordination of United Nations and International Organizations with governments could contribute to creating an egalitarian atmosphere, governed by deference and tolerance towards diversity, which is vital since locals do not "condescend" to help immigrants.

Taking all this into consideration, there is no doubt in my mind that the problem of immigration will exist perpetually. Only if everyone comprehends the seriousness of the situation, will they come up with beneficial solutions to make the shape of things to come positive in the era of immigration.

"Overpopulation"

Comparing the statistics of the Earth's population numbers in 1800 with those in 2008, we can easily notice the immense rise of people inhabiting the Earth. This fact has resulted in overpopoulation: the state in which the average number of humans living on our planet is no longer sustainable. With regard to the repercussions of overpopulation, they can only be adverse for humanity. However, how could something be done, so as to control the increase of population, but simultaneously not violating human rights?
To begin with, many of us would wonder why such a large population should be considered to constitute a problem since it has provided humanity eith a suitably large workforce. Nevertheless, the ratio of people residing on Earth to those that can be sustained by our planet, is disproportionate. Were this problem to worsen, there would be a huge crisis of food deficiency. Concerning the need to satisfy the vital necessityof nourishment, food supplies will not be enough to meet the needs of such a huge number of people. As a result, there may be a war on food and many people might die of starvation, Moreover, another unfavourable aspect of overpopulation is that life standards are going to be downgraded, due to the thickly populated areas, in which people will be crowded, dropping litter and dispose sewage. Rarely will we pass through clean streets and roads. To make matters worse, what is distressing is that people not having a shelter, will live even in landfills, owing to the fact that there might not be any space to build a house. Maybe overpopulation does constitute a huge problem for humanity, but would the effort of limiting this be sensible?
To alleviate the situation, the goverment should create a benefit especially for families with only one child, or make electricity less expensive for them. In this way, financial incentives are going to be given and many people will be motivated to bring up one child. Furthermore, it is vitally signifcant that a campaign is launched to raise awareness of the crisis. For instance, people can be informed about contraceptionand how disastrous overpopulation can be for their lives. Under no circumstances should we let people be unaware of this serious situation. Taking these steps means that we make an effort to overcome the problem, without infringing upon human rights.
All in all, I am inclined to believe that with the proper steps, solutions can be fond. It would be wiser to inform the public and to take action for solving this global issue, so long as human rights are not violated.

Single-parent families

Nowadays, the number of children growing up in single-parent families is constantly rising given that the percentage of single-parent households has peaked at 16% internationally. In fact, the findings of numerous studies suggest that the cudostial parent is most commonly the mother. As regards the reasons for a single-parent family, they can be attributed to divorce, death of one spouse, adoption by a financially secure parent and artificial pregnancy. Hence, what problems does this contemporary trend unearth and are there any steps that should be taken to alleviate the situation?

There is a wide variety of problems that children of solo parents may encounter. First and foremost, it is essential every child have two role models in order to comprehend the behavior of both sexes. if not, the child may not be prepared to assimilate into society properly and may feel extraneous. Secondly, it is a fact of modern life that women are professionally occupied and since a hectic schedule dominates every employee's life, the more a parent works, the more difficult it is to supervize their offspring. More specifically, the two aforementioned problems may result in the psychological deviance of the child raised in a single-parent family. That is, depression, loneliness, alienation and isolation might arise, not only if the child is devoid of love and affection from its parent, but also if it faces the cruelty of individuals of the same age.

The burden of responsibility, however, lies in the hands of single parents, who are in need of special qualities to help children overcome those problems. Firstly, every parent should be understanding and compassionate, and should have the proclivity to spend quality time with their children, for instance, spend all Sunday exploring interesting parts of the city, or helping with the homework on an everyday basis. Another case in point is that both constant discussion between the members of the family and consulting a child-psychologist could contribute to annihilating psychological problems, on the grounds that the child will dispose of adverse and subliminal feelings. Last but not last, the child itself should resort to relatives, who will exhibit the conduct of the sex of the absent parent.

On balance, there is no doubt in my mind hat so many a child will be raised in single-parent families in the future. So, were single-parents to be more responsible and take action, their progeny would be just as jubilant as the children of traditional families.

Overpopulation

In recent years, the size of global population is constantly rising given that startling evince has come to light indicating that the birth rate, that is, the percentage of children born per woman, has peaked in countries, such as Africa, at the percentage of 7.34, whereas the world average is 2.58. Hence, opinions are sharply divided over whether the government should take steps to alleviate the phenomenon of the increasing universal population.

There are many significant reasons why overpopulation should be tackled. First and foremost, not only will people be malnourished if the population is overwhelming, since there will be food shortages, but a one-time bonanza of fossil fuels (: oil, natural gas and coal) and highly concentrated minerals will also be depleted. Thereby, global warming and famine will be aggravated. Moreover, the fluctuation of demand and supply will continue to expand; subsequently, the prices of goods and services will be extremely high and so will the cost of living. Last but not least, unemployment is to rise, resulting n the stagnation of economy. Nevertheless, how can we remedy this mammoth problem in order to avert catastrophe?

Having overshot the Earth's capacity to sustain our current numbers, we should not resort to inhumane measures, which would infringe on people's right to create a family. That is, the government should abstain from imposing population control to reduce the birth rates, unlike China, whose President introduced a one child per family policy. So, the most sensible step for the ruling Parties to take could be to provide families with financial incentives, for instance grans, tax cuts, or benefits, so as not to have a large family, at leas. lastly, were the government to launch a campaign to raise awareness on the seriousness of the situation, the birth rates would be curbed.

On balance, there is no doubt in my mind that overpopulation poses and is going to pose one of the most pressing issues that mankind has to harness. However, how hopeful can we be about the future? In other words, will it be mandatory to take action, and if all governments do take steps , will people comply?
